Marina Introduction

The Tilghman Island Marina offers a serene, quaint and natural environment portraying much of what the Chesapeake Bay, the Eastern Shore and Tilghman Island are about. Strategically located at the west entry to Knapps Narrows Channel, the property overlooks the Chesapeake Bay, Back Creek and an upscale vacation community. Slip holders and transient guests routinely enjoy the expansive Bay views, killer sunsets and quick access to the Back Creek Water Trails, a perfect place for kayaking, paddle boarding and wildlife viewing.

3 sides of the marina are surrounded by the Tilghman Quay Community whose back yards meet with the foot path circling the Marina's basin. It is common to find community homeowners walking the path while admiring the boats and promoting conversation with slip holders and transient guests. Many coincidental meetings have evolved into lasting friendships and even transformed first time visitors into regulars returning year after year.

Most evenings throughout the summer season you'll find boaters relaxing in the comfort of their boats while enjoying their end of day cocktails in anticipation of another record sunset. Simultaneously homeowners walk the docks sharing warm smiles and pleasant conversation while sipping their own drink of choice. As the sun sets, the western sky slowly morphs from deep blue into a spectacular rainbow of yellow-orange-red colors. This nightly event is enjoyed by newcomers as well as residents and even locals that have lived here all their lives. Nightly sunsets like this are one of the many benefits of living the Eastern Shore life style

This place just radiates serenity with that "Welcome Home" feel; even when you've never been here before

About Us - Meet Ron & Nancy

Tilghman Island Marina & Rentals Owners, Captain Ron & Nancy Tilghman Island Marina & Rentals Owners, Captain Ron & Nancy
Ron and Nancy - 1999 on left and more recent on right

Since purchasing in the spring of 1999, Nancy and I have relished our Tilghman Island Marina life which offers a small town Island lifestyle combined with the social engagements typical of marina's and boating. Summers are filled with business, boating and parties while winters offer solitude, serenity and mulching, all while immersed in the natural beauty and sights provided by the Chesapeake Bay.

Looking back over our many years of operation, it is now easy to see that all of our hard work during those beginning years has allowed us to evolve into a comfortable semiretired life. Although the investment initially started out as a business venture, it didn't take long to realize that our newly acquired Island lifestyle offered much greater returns than any investment could ever present. And as every day passes, we both continually recognize how lucky we are for having made such a dramatic lifestyle change so many years ago. Saying goodbye to NJ and hello to Tilghman Island was our once in a life "Stroke of Good Fortune".

If life were any better, it would be illegal

About Jobs and Employment Opportunities

Click above to enlarge

Tilghman Island Marina typically requires several employees to assist with property, equipment and customer care during summer months. Though most positions require some level of strength and agility in order to assist rental and marina customers, we do on occasion have need for office help. Over the years we have employed dozens, from young teenagers to retirees. Typically most of our employees return from the prior year however we are usually looking for one or two more with 14 years of age being the youngest and requiring working papers.

All positions are paid commensurate with experience however the majority of teenagers employed over our many years of operation have come to us without any job skills whatsoever. As such we have become quite adept at training youngsters which allows their pay to grow year after year as they mature into self-starters while having learned the virtues of hard work. By the time they get to college age, they are generally making more than most others in their same age group with the additional benefit of having acquired skills and work ethic that far exceed most of their friends.

So if you are looking for part-time summer employment or know of a suitable youngster, please call our office to inquire.
